Today I realised it was Wednesday. And I hadn’t written a single thing!
Usually my WW post’s are well researched and thought about so I knew I was in a quality-post-time-jam.
I had a full day organised beginning with a business meeting this morning with a friend of mine. My little office got it’s first visitor today! So cool.
My friend commented about the big RELAX affirmation on my office wall and I proceeded to share with her about my tendency to go 100 miles an hour, and how it’s been a big learning curve to just SLOW DOWN and prioritise my time. Cancer will teach you this like no other teacher!
It was here in this little office space with my friend that the “oh crap it’s Wednesday” revelation hit me. She just smiled at my panic, looked over my shoulder and up at my wall, and cheekily suggested “Why don’t you write about that?”
So here I am. Writing about the very thing I am fundamentally challenged with. Hey, I said I would write about things that work for me, not that I had perfected the art! LOL
It really is simple. And yet we make it so complicated.
We are not designed to live in a constant state of fight or flight. This is what produces anxiety, stress, and all sorts of horrible physical conditions that will eventually cost A LOT of money to sort out if you don’t get a handle on it. But I know I’m preaching to the converted right here. Right…?! Lol
So being mindful about relaxing and making it a priority is actually really important – especially in today’s crazy busy world where we can get swept up without even realising it half the time.
So make a mental list or heck, go one purposeful step further and write down all the things you like to do to relax. Then do yourself and everyone else around you a favour and schedule those little nourishing breaks in. Like NOW. Make it a priority! YOU ARE WORTH IT!
For me I like to give myself permission to blob out every now and then and watch Netflix. Or more recently, instead of waiting for the end of the day to get a little bit of RELAX in there, I take 2 minutes out periodically throughout the day and inhale my favourite dōTERRA relaxation blend. It just calms, soothes, and balances me out every single time!
